Dean Martin

Sings Italian Favorites

"But with the dawn my love was gone
Just like the fading stars above
My lonely heart cries out "Please come back to me"
Beside the sea in dear old Napoli."

Dean Martin Sings Italian Favorites

In 1962, Dean Martin released his charming, critically acclaimed Dino: Italian Love Songs album, an homage to his Italian heritage, and an instant fan favorite. Dino: Italian Love Songs consisted of a collection of twelve songs, but these weren’t the only traditional, Italian-flavored songs that Dean Martin ever recorded.

Dean Martin Sings Italian Favorites is a CD reissue of an excellent 1982 cassette-only compilation that gathers the majority of all of Dean Martin’s Italian songs, including all of the Dino: Italian Love Songs album. Other essential, Italian-themed songs included are Come Back To Sorrento, Innamorata, In Napoli, and The Man Who Plays The Mandolino ("Italians love to sip a cup of cappuccino / And listen to the man who plays the mandolino / You offer him a cigarette, a glass of vino..."), and, of course, Volare and That's Amore. Dean Martin Sings Italian Favorites is the perfect "travel companion" for your summer holiday.
